Silver Collectible Coins

Among the most popular collectible silver coins in the United States is the Morgan Silver Dollar. It was first minted in 1878 to 1904, and again in 1921. The Morgan Silver Dollar is quite popular among collectors because the coin is also a piece of United States history – the settlement of the American west. Most of the silver used to strike the Morgan was obtained as a result of the massive Comstrock Lode silver discovery in Nevada. This discovery is still the largest on U.S. record.

Another factor that makes these coins sought after among collectors is their relative affordability. Although there are truly rare editions in the series that fetch a handsome sum of money, most coins of the series are fairly common, and can be found at rare coin shows for under $50.
